Visit our blog to get an overview of the co-lab.

We love our little retail space - Harvest Storeroom.
It has served us well for the past 9 months and so we have decided to reward it with a whole lot of love.

Over the coming weeks we will be working towards a big shop makeover and will be creating a whole lot of new product to fill it with.

The pic to the left is an ode to our current Storeroom. Thankyou oh humble little shop to introducing us to the wonderful world of bricks and mortar retail. You have taught us much and we look forward to the next instalment!

Could we have chosen a nicer person to collaborate with?
Beattie Lanser
has joined our studio for the month to work on a really fun project. We are combining her super sewing skills with our screenprinting nous to produce a limited edition clothing range that will be launched in early April. We are yet to announce any official parties or dates but are hoping it includes a cheeky visit to Sydney.
Beattie's trademark giggle is keeping things light and easy at the studio. How great does she look in the sample jumpsuit we've made up?
We will be posting photographs of Beattie's time at Harvest Workroom on our flickr.
Hook in to our instagram (@harvestworkroom) or sign up for our mailing list to keep abreast of this exciting project.

Treat a special someone to some handprinted goodness by gifting a voucher.
The voucher covers the cost of any handprinted item from Harvest Textiles online store or from Harvest Storeroom or a workshop at Harvest Workroom.

Please note we can also tailor vouchers to any amount you would like and the recipient is able to top up the amount if indeed they would like to spend a little more.

Sounds like an easy gift option huh? Who wouldn't be happy with that?

By far the most exciting event on the Harvest Textiles calendar this year is 12 DAYS OF HARVEST
Every day for twelve days straight in December starting from 3 December we will be announcing super short runs of new designs just in time for the festive season.

We have kicked off the package with The Golden Girl - the essential bag for summer.
Combining slouchy denim casual with miami gold spots - this bag can be worn casual or classy.
It is super versatile too - use it either as a backpack or an over-the-shoulder.
Handprinted on denim with gold foil spots The Golden Girl has a handy pocket with gold zip on the outside to stash all of those quick to grab bits and pieces. A drawstring keeps everything safe on the inside.

Be quick as this is a short run of limited edition designs and we are not kidding when we say that :-)

If you would like to stay up to date with our 12 DAYS OF HARVEST announcements - follow us on Instagram (@harvestworkroom) or Facebook.

Due to popular demand we are excited to announce some new screenprinting workshops for 2013.

Students will have the opportunity to join us in our print room and generate their own artwork designs that will then be handprinted onto art paper.

There are two workshop formats - both just as exciting as the other:

* MAKE YOUR OWN STATIONERY + MINI ARTWORKS - Spend 2 days with Harvest to design, expose and screen print your own stationery/mini artworks on paper.
You will spend the first session designing your own artwork for 4 x small designs and learning the basics of screen printing by using Harvest Textiles designs to print your own wrapping paper. You will then expose your artwork onto screen and then screen print your artwork onto acid free art paper.
More details here.

* PRINT YOUR OWN DESIGNS ONTO PAPER - Redecorate your home with some of your own beautiful hand pulled prints. Join Harvest Textiles for two days and design, expose and screen print your own original artwork on paper.
More details here.

We have also listed another new fabric workshop format - Screen Printing Super School - that gives students 5 full days of screen printing including creating multi-colour placement prints, making hand drawn repeat patterns, creating registered placement prints and exposing your own artwork onto screen.
Check here for more info.

The decision we made a couple of months ago to open our own permanent retail space - Harvest Storeroom - was a great one. We so enjoying having a dedicated space to put all of our handprinted goodness and it is such a pleasure to meet people as they come through the door to visit us.

One of the most satisfying aspects is that we can come up with an idea on Monday morning, print it up on Tuesday, heatset it on Wednesday, have it sewn up by Rosie on Thursday and have it in the store on Friday. It means we can do limited runs and one off pieces without blinking an eye. We don't always have a chance to list these goodies on our online store as they are sold before we even get the chance so it is well worth popping into our physcial store.

But for those folk who use our cyber store we have just listed a whole load of new pot luck cushions, oven mittens and the super comfy Orb cushion. We are taking pre-orders online for a fabulous new travel bag called The Overnighter and have listed a batch of kid's leggings this week with a drop of adult's leggings just around the corner. We are also taking pre-xmas orders for our long awaited single doona covers and pillowcases. As we move towards the silly season we have all sorts of plans for new and interesting products so watch this space.
And for those who are keen to stay abreast of all of our up-to-the-minute product news we recommend following us on instagram (@harvestworkroom) or facebook.

We have been printing up a storm in order to stock our new store - Harvest Storeroom - our permanent retail space at 510 Lygon Street, East Brunswick 3057, VIC, Australia. Open Fridays and Saturdays 12pm - 5pm.

Some long awaited goodies include these fabulous leggings for the big folks.
They are super comfy and really versatile. They look terrific just as they are or under a dress or skirt to give it a lift. Some folks even use them as super hero tights.
Using a 90% certified organic cotton/10% spandex blend they are super soft and our selection of handdrawn and handprinted drawings have wide appeal.
Each of the designs has it's own personality - raindrops, dotty spotty, quilt or zig zag?

Our January 2012 designer-in-residence Clara Vuletich (UK based Australian textile designer, Bricolage Project member and researcher at Textiles Environment Design) has arrived in Melbourne.
The residency will explore the concept of 'local textiles’. Clara hopes to combine her knowledge of sustainable textile print and dye processes with her interest in new forms of design and community activity that promote ‘home-grown’ knowledge/skills and encourage well-being.
Clara will document her residency with daily blog updates and host Local Cloth - a presentation of her residency findings on Saturday January 21st from 10.30am - 12pm to be held at Harvest Workroom, 512 Lygon Street, East Brunswick. She is a charismatic speaker with a great depth of information and enthusiasm for her subject (as her seminar last year attests). An event not to be missed.
Bookings here - only $15.

Shelley Panton is one of those marvellous people who imbues everything they do with absolute grace and polish. And that is why we are so honoured to have been asked to provide bespoke table linen for her November Studio Dinner series.
Set in the century-old butcher’s shop that houses her home based studio-come-store Shelley will collaborate with foodies to celebrate all things artisan for the table from the produce, to the plates, to the linens and the wines. The dinners will feature 4 courses plus canapés created by chef Daniel Schelbert of Eat Drink Man Woman and wines by Dave Fletcher of Fletcher Wines & Maddens Rise vineyards.
Meals will be presented on stoneware clay plates made by Shelley especially for this dinner and the table linens we produce will be for guests to use at the dinner table - to then take home and enjoy.
The dinners will be hosted from 7 - 11pm November 14 & 15 at Shelley's Store in Middle Park. Email Shelley to find out more.

We have been having a great time as guest bloggers over at The Design Files.

Lucy Feagins (pictured left) is the mistressmind behind this fabulous blog that keeps us in the loop with all design related amazingness around Melbourne and beyond and was kind enough to invite us to have our say for a week. We chose to feature the marvellous designers (Liz Jones, Maryann Talia Pau, Nikki Gabriel, Greg Hatton & Leila Sanderson) who will host workshops at our up coming event makeUp to be held at Harvest Workroom.
It was a good excuse to go and have a nosey at everybody's studio spaces...and what inspiring little corners of the world they have created.

Thanks Lucy for the chance to appear on your fantastic design forum. We have really enjoyed ourselves.
